Assassination Attempt

Venezuela has been linked to an assassination attempt against the president of Columbia, Alvaro Uribe. Judge Eloy Velasco charged six members of the ETA and seven members of the FARC with involvement in the plot. The ETA and the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia) have been linked to the failed assassination attempt of the previous Columbian president. Much of the case is based primarily on e-mails found in the computer of Raul Reyes. Reyes was a former FARC member who was killed in a military raid in early 2008. The evidence also shows that FARC members monitored the Columbian embassy and the routes the president traveled.
